Day of Prayer

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from
heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14

I am asking every believer in Jesus Christ to set aside Monday,
November 3 as a day of fasting and prayer . I would urge you to review the prayer of Daniel on behalf of his people in Dan . 9:3-19, and to pray that way
for our nation. And finally, I would ask you to distribute this call to prayer as widely as possible so that the greatest number of people would lay hold of the throne of grace all at once. It may be that God will show mercy to America , that He will shed His grace on her once again. Thank you for joining with me in this effort.

How to Add Jesus to Halloween!

If you are like me than you are always searching for an avenue to teach your children about Jesus. I wanted to share with all moms the best resources I have found to add Jesus to your Halloween/Fall Traditions. The following websites have some really great ways to use a pumpkin to illustrate, tell a story, and share a special devotion with young children and older children. I hope these websites will help you teach your children.

Fall 2008 Newsletter Articles

Unfortunately, I have not been able to add the entire newsletter to the site but I have included the articles that were included in the newsletter on the site.

Falling into New Memories

“Where did the summer go?” This is the question that most of us are asking ourselves these days. As much as it saddens me that another season has came and is going so quickly, I do find myself rather excited about the “fast” approaching fall season. Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year. I love everything about fall...the smells, the colors, the weather, baking, back to school, football, apples, Thanksgiving...just everything! To me, there is such a peacefulness that comes with Fall and I love it. Here at Mrs. Amber’s Daycare, the fall season will bring new opportunities for learning, growing, and discovering. Inside this newsletter, you will find a wealth of information on upcoming events and happenings as well as some important reminders. Please stand united with me in prayer during the fall season for the continued blessings for each child and family represented through Mrs. Amber’s Daycare.

Back to Preschool Curriculum...

Our daily curriculum will start back in full swing during the week of September 2nd. Our curriculum will include bible lessons, letters, numbers, shapes, colors, music time, story time, and activities/crafts that correspond with the weekly lessons. There will be occasions when parents will be asked to bring certain items to help with our lessons for the week. These items may include craft items, supplies, snacks, or may be asked to allow their child to wear a certain colored shirt for color recognition days. This will be discussed in more detail as the time approaches for these items. Please understand that each child is different and will learn at their own pace so if I see that a child is slower in any area I will discuss the matter with you so that additional work can be done at home. It is a critical part of the learning process for ALL children that the concepts introduced at Mrs. Amber’s Daycare are reinforced at home during the fall and winter months. If you need ideas on how to implement learning times at home or ideas on how to get started, please contact me and I will be glad to help.

Attendance Policy

Mrs. Amber’s Daycare requests that all doctor appointments and other appointments be made in the early morning or late afternoon. It is very important as we begin our curriculum that each child is not interrupted in order to get the full benefit of the daily lessons and activities. I do understand that occasionally there will have to be exceptions but let’s try to be respectful of the children’s learning time and the schedule that is in place so that EVERYONE will receive the benefit of learning! Children will NOT be allowed to attend for the day if they arrive AFTER 10:45 am. Also, naptime is between the time frame of 12:15—3:00, so please try not to schedule appointments during this time so that every child can get the proper rest needed. Again, lets be respectful of other children, parents, and the schedule!

Playtime in the Fall Season

As the season changes, so does the weather. At Mrs. Amber’s Daycare, we will continue to have regularly scheduled outdoor playtime. I feel that outdoor playtime is critical to a child’s ability to learn, explore, and discover. The outdoor playtime during the cooler months will be shortened compared to the warmer months. I request that each child is dressed appropriately for both indoor and outdoor play. Please make sure that during the cooler months that your child has appropriate tennis shoes and jacket for outdoor play. So remember to bring tennis shoes and a jacket EVERY DAY during this new season

Sick Policy

I will not accept the child for care if the child has the following illnesses: chicken pox, mumps, measles, “pink eye”, or any other highly contagious illness. I ask that all parents be considerate of the other children (and their parents). All of the children use the same toilet and washroom and they often “mouth” the same toys. They are often very affectionate with each other and it is very difficult to keep a sick child from infecting everyone else.

So please be considerate of every child and family!

Bible Verse of the Season:

To every thing there is a season,

and a time to every purpose

under the heaven

~Ecclesiastes 3:1

Amber's Bio

My name is Amber. I was born and raised in Hendersonville, TN. I am a member of East Nashville General Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. I married my husband, Mace in August 1997. I am the mother of Logan, Luke and Tanner (twins) and Katherine (Katie).

I graduated from Tennessee State University in May 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Administration. I worked in the Human Resource field for 5 ½ years. I left the Human Resource field after our first son, Logan, was born.

I decided that I would like to open my own daycare business in my home after being a working mother. I thought it would be a great opportunity to help other working parents by providing a loving and nurturing environment for their children.

My goal of operating a daycare became my dream and my dream became my passion and purpose. I enjoy watching children and it brings joy to my heart. I cannot imagine doing anything else. I am so thankful that God has provided me the opportunity to own and operate my own daycare business.

I look forward to working with your family and providing excellent child care service for you.
